Nola made everyone's hair full and pretty. Sekeya pulled the fabulous outfits from Forever 21 (Thanks Faye) and H&M (Thanks Tony and Melissa). Fun was had by all!

Dirty Brushes Are Gross!
There's nothing worse than dirty brushes. It's extremely unsanitary and it can ruin a client's experience. You should have a cleaner in your kit that cleans, dries quickly, and cleans EVERYTHING out of your brushes. Cinema Secrets brush cleaner is great, and effective, and leaves brushes feeling and smelling really pleasant. Of course there are several that work, this just happens to work best for me, plus I do love the pretty blue color. Here's what the CS webiste says about it's best-seller:
BRUSH CLEANER
Brush Cleaner is required to do two things. First, it should clean brushes by removing all makeup (any type) from your brushes and condition the brushes to proote the longevity needed for a profesional quality brush. Second, the brush cleaner needs to santitize and remove all bacteria from the brush. Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner is the only Brush Cleaner that will completly remove 99.9% of the bacteria in your brush (when you follow the recommended instructions).

Trying New Things
A lot of times as artists it's so easy to get into "ruts".....It happens to the best of us. Of course we all have our faves, but it's always good to try new things and experiment-that's part of the fun of being a makeup artist! I've heard Sam Fine rave about this powder many times, and I finally got it...now I'm hooked! As usual, I'm all about pretty packaging, but most importantly, the product has got to rock my world, and this one does!! Smooth finish, doesn't take much, (which makes it worth 60.00) and it feels luxurious, which is really important for the client's ultimate experience.

Calling All MAC Lovers!
So I've been playing with some of the beautiful limited edition products by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders for MAC. The entire collection is so rich and pretty! I love using color, so this is right up my alley!!! If you haven't gotten anything from this collection, you should. The packaging is itself art, so sleek. So far my favorite is the lip gloss in Aleydis...oh what a nice shade of fuchsia ! (I'm kinda over the "Barbie" pink!) Plus I like the deeper, richer tones for fall/winter.
Check out how pretty.....

The Lavish Xperience: The Ultimate Unconference
We had honor of attending the Lavish Conference for Lifestyle Bloggers this past weekend, and it was awesome! Shameeka Ayers (@brokesocialite) put together some of the most creative, unique, and informative blog panelists! Agency founder Nyssa was on the panel: "I'm a Makeup Junkie, Therefore I Blog!" Her co-panelist was You Tube sensation Ren. (Makeupbyrenren.com) She's a fab blogger, and so sweet! We had delicious "Greenroom" cupcakes after the panel, as well goodies from Pur Minerals(we got this pencil in the new gold and silver!) and Iman Cosmetics! We met so many other wonderful bloggers-way too many to name, but you'll definitely see some of them soon as guest bloggers!!! Blog love!!!
Absolutely one of the best discoveries at the conference! Follow @girlinthevalley to great wine!!

What We're Lovin' (Today)
I recently had a chance to spend the afternoon talking (and learning) makeup with celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Shariff, who was in town working with Dior. The one product every Dior artist insisted upon was the new One Essential serum. I love it. I simply love products that do what they claim! It repairs and regenerates skin, and increases the power of anything used on top of it. 95.00 may seem like a lot, but this is well worth the investment. Everyone that I've suggested it to has gotten it and the results are amazing!

Nyssa's Southern Products
People have been asking about the products I used for the Southern Living shoot. Here are some of the things I used both in the magazine and online. Be sure to check out the fun videos at southernliving.com
These pencils have really been rockin' my world lately. I mainly use black bean and milk, but can't wait to try the green, of course. I used the black for SL.

Dior Class With Ashunta
Here's our agency director Nicole with all the other fab ladies getting help from the Dior pros.
One of the hosts of the event, Merry Carlos, and favorite Diva Evey Mims with their Dior faces. Beautiful!!
This is the palette Ashunta used to create a really pretty smokey eye. We all loved it!
This serum, once recommended by Oprah, was one of the best sellers of the day! It repairs and protects skin with almost instant results!
I looooove a black mascara; I mean true black and this one fits the bill! It's so intense. Definitely a keeper!
Nyssa and Ashunta
Yesterday we attended a fabulous private Dior makeup event at Neiman's hosted by favorite client Merry Carlos and Miss Dottie Smith. Celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Shariff was there to teach and share the secrets to the "faux glow" she's famous for on clients like Alicia Keys and Sharon Stone. For the record, it's all in the placement of her bronzer and shimmer powder.....

Jezebel Party
Our girls at LiviRae Lingerie put on a sexy, but sweet fashion show at Jezebel Magazine's 14th Anniversary Party, and we did the makeup! It was also a busy night for Nyssa, who pulled double duty: after the show she covered the party for "Get Connected" TV show! The night was topped off by a way too short performance by Kelly Rowland!

MAC's New CollectionT
The "Tartan Collection" from MAC is one of the best they've done, in my opinion!!! Great kits with lots of fun stuff! These are the two I'm getting first! The Noble Knights Line and Lash Kit (love the teal pigment!) and A Fabulous Fantasy Lip Kit. These will surely sell out, so get them while you can!!

Kaleena waits for the next set-up. Those sexy lips were created with Nars "Boogie Nights" gloss!
Raphael's creation.....
Here are some shots from yesterday's shoot with singer/songwriter Kaleena from "Dirty Money". She's phenomenal and was a joy to shoot. Kevin Goolsby, who's known for his incredible shots with musicians and celebrities, created some beautiful, edgy lighting! The final images will be on our site in 2 weeks! thegreenroomagency.com

Photography 101
Here's "Medusa's" eye! Urban Decay's "Mullett" liner was used to add a little sparkle!
Here's a peep....
This weekend in addition to doing 2 weddings, we had another fun gig. Master photog Ernest Washington held a lighting workshop that was incredibly fun AND informative! Ernest has been doing photography for over 15 years and is still current and passionate. Love working with people like that!!! Our girl Defrance (and marketing guru for Ernest's new studio) was the model, and Ernest let us have a little fun in honor of Halloween!

It's been a busy week , and that's how we like it! Yasmine F. and Miss Avery Sunshine, who performed at Spelman.

Funny Business
Kandi from "Real Housewives" gets touched up by Yas as her assistant looks on. Kandi and Dwight were great fun, and good sports!!
Hat ladies from Rickey's skit!
Here's Yas with 2 of our favorite detectives from "The First 48". They were part of a very funny skit with Rickey Smiley.
2 of the models we did escorted Mr. Mooney down the red carpet!
We've all been busy here at the agency, and it's all because of comedians! Babette styled the legendary Paul Mooney for his PPV taping. He looked great! Babette partnered with 3G jewelry to provide Mr. Mooney's bling, which included a 20 carat medallion and a limited-edition timepiece.
Rickey Smiley kept us laughing while on set shooting some hilarious skits with some hilarious characters including his famous "Sister Bernice"! Yas and Nyssa did makeup! Fun!!
